Bill Maher tells Jada Smith to put on a wig in profanity-laced takedown

Bill Maher lashes out at Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, as the shocking brawl over the Oscars continues.

The host of “Real Time with Bill Maher” called the “I Am Legend” actor a “douchebag” for attacking Chris Rock on the Oscars stage.

During the show’s monologue, Maher downplayed Jada’s condition, saying it was “alopecia, not leukemia,” and then thought it was hardly an insult to be compared to Demi Moore’s GI Jane.

He also mocked Will Smith, recalled his wife’s relationship with August Alsina, and said he warned Chris Rock not to hang on to his wife’s name, a warning that backfired because of the comments about the incident and Jada’s hair.

According to the New York Post, Maher, 66, advised Jada to be thankful that his condition was not life-threatening.?

“If you’re so lucky in life that this is your medical problem, say ‘Thank God.

“This is not a life-threatening problem. It is – for most people, 80 percent of men, 50 percent of women – it’s part of aging,” he said, and continued:

“Aging is, I don’t know.

“Aging is, believe me, I know. It’s the degeneration of the flesh. It happens to all of us.” He said.

Smith wrote a lengthy statement published by Deadline.

The statement revealed that he had “responded directly” to the Academy’s notice of a disciplinary hearing and that he would accept any consequences.

He described his attack on moderator Chris Rock as “shocking, painful and inexcusable.”

He cited the individuals affected by his actions, which “included Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those present, and the global audience at home.”

The actor admitted that he “denied other nominees and winners the opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work.”</p

The King Richard actor wrote that he was “heartbroken” before officially quitting the Academy, writing, “I am therefore resigning my membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and will accept any further consequences that the Board of Trustees deems appropriate. Change takes time, and I am committed to doing the work to ensure that I never again allow violence to overtake reason.
